LG Gx Phablet unveiled, but is it coming to the UK
LG Announce the LG Gx a 5.5 inch IPS Full HD phablet
LG Korea has announced the LG Gx a new 4G phablet which slots into the G Series of devices. The specification for the LG Gx appears identical to the LG G Pro, which was unveiled back in January, 2013, but it's had a design makeover.
The LG Gx comes with a 5.5 IPS Full HD display with a resolution of 1080 by 1920 and a pixels-per-inch rating of 400.53.
The processing power for the Gx comes from its Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor. LG didn't specify the speed of the processor, but it's likely to be the same 1.7GHz chip featured in the Optimus G Pro.
The LG Gx runs on Android Jelly Bean with a custom user interface seen on other LG smartphones. It comes a 13 megapixel main camera with autofocus and a front camera of 2.1 megapixels.
The Gx has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of on-board memory, but like the majority of LG's recent smartphones it doesn't support microSD cards.
The LG Gx will be available in white and black and will be launched in Korea in the first half 2014, but there was no news on other countries getting the Gx.
3G spotted that the Gx operates on the 2.6Ghz 4G LTE frequency band which is used By Vodafone and EE in the UK so its possible the Gx could come to the UK.
We are currently working hard to find out if the LG Gx will indeed be heading to the UK or not.
UPDATE : An LG spokesman has told us at 3G that "there are currently no plans to bring the Gx to Europe". But that's not to say their plans wont change in the future.
