Back at the start of the month we reported that Nokia had made a new application , called Photobeamer, available for the Nokia Lumia 820 and Lumia 920. Nokia also promised that the application would become available for older Lumia smartphones before the end of the year.
Nokia have been true to their word because they've now made PhotoBeamer available on Nokia Lumia smartphones running Windows Phone 7.5. That means that the application can now be downloaded on the Lumia 800, Lumia 900 , Lumia 610 and many more Lumia smartphones.
So what is Nokia PhotoBeamer ?
Nokia PhotoBeamer is essentially an image sharing application that removes the need for wires, Bluetooth or NFC. The applications works by taking advantage of QR codes and your Lumia's internet connectivity.
In order to share a photo with another browser-enabled device is open up http://photobeamer.com/ on the device you want to display the image on and then scan the QR code with the PhotoBeamer application on your Lumia smartphone.
The image will then automatically be uploaded and then displayed on the display. You will need to have either a 3G, 4G or WiFi connection on your Lumia smartphone in order to use PhotoBeamer. We think it's a really great application and recommend Lumia owners to check it out !
