The Daily Mirror have launched a new free version of their newspaper for the Apple iPad. To access the newspaper you'll need to download the Daily Mirror application from the App Store which is available to download right now.
We presume that in the long term the Daily Mirror plan to start charging for the newspaper , but for now iPad owners can enjoy it free. However , the newspaper will only be released free on weekdays meaning you'll need to pay for the weekend version.
The advantage of reading the iPad version of the Daily Mirror over a physical copy is twofold. Firstly, the news can be updated in real-time meaning you don't have to wait until the next morning to get the latest news. Secondly, the iPad version is interactive enabling readers to view attached videos, audio clips, slide-shows and interact with other readers.
These are the two main reasons why in the future digital copies are expected to become the dominant platform. The advent of 4G has made rich multimedia content even more viable, while the increased power of smartphones and the prevalence of tablets will continue to drive adoption of digital newspapers and magazines.
