Last week we brought you news that Motorola had made the Android Gingerbread update available for the Motorola Atrix. However, as always owners of the mobile locked to specific operators had to wait longer, while the network worked on their branded version.
The good news for Motorola Atrix owners on T-Mobile is that they can now download the Gingerbread update !
The update is long overdue and has taken so long to be released that a newer version of Android has been released (Ice Cream Sandwich). As we all know though its better late than never !
T-Mobile Atrix owners will have to update their smartphone by connecting it to a PC, because the update is unavailable OTA (over-the-air). That means you need a USB cable to connect your phone and a version of Motorola MySoftwareUpdate.
Motorola are also warning that the update will erase all third-party media including applications, music, ringtones and much more. Therefore, users should backup all their files before applying the Gingerbread update.
Before updating the software will also automatically verify your warranty, so those with cracked devices may want to steer clear.
3G would love to test the update for you guys, but sadly we don't have a Motorola Atrix available to use.
