Skype Now Available For Symbian^3 Mobiles
![]() |
Skype has released a new version of its mobile application for Symbian smartphones which now adds support for Symbian^3 devices.
This now means that the Nokia N8, C7 and E5 can all make Skype calls using the free application.
The new version also adds support for SILK, which is a high quality audio codec that ensures calls are crystal clear. It also brings a number of user-interface improvements that make the application even easier to use.
With Skype you can get free Skype-to-Skype calls over 3G and Wi-Fi with the only cost being the data incurred. You can also save money on calls and texts to mobiles abroad and easily share pictures, videos and other files from your mobile.
Skype has recently seen new competition in the form of Viber, which is having good initial success so they are keen to improve their offering to maintain their market share.
