HTC has confirmed that it is releasing Android 2.2 ( Froyo ) for the HTC Wildfire. This has been a long wait for Wildfire owners as HTC thanks their customers for their patience.
We are not sure if the mobile operators here in the UK will simply rubber stamp sending this to handsets or their will be further delay till users actually can have Android 2.2 on their handsets.
We looked on the HTC Wildfires download page and there was no sign of anything to do with Android 2.2 there. So we suspect some operators will be quick off the mark and others not so. The benefits from Android 2.2 may be seen here.
To check if your mobile operator is ready select Menu, then Settings, About Phone and hit System Software Update and then Check Now.
As soon we hear which mobile operators are pushing it out and which have a delay we will be sure to post it here.
