Vodafone have announced an Android update for the Google Nexus One. However, the update isnt the recently unveiled Android 2.3 , but an update to Android 2.2.

The new 2.2.1 update is a security fix that rectifies some security issues in Android 2.2 and fixes a number of bugs.

Vodafone did say that they are working closely with Google to bring updates to its customers as soon as  possible, which implies they are already working on Android 2.3.

The update will be available to download over-the-air over the next couple of days and Vodafone recommend that all Nexus One Owners should install the update.
