The Astonishing Tribe ( TAT ) has been acquired by RIM ( Research In Motion ) to work on the BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry PlayBook with the existing team at BlackBerry. 

TAT say they create the best performing, most astonishingly beautiful user interfaces for any screen and any device. We do this using awesome design, optimized technology, and constant experimentation with emerging technologies and paradigms. They have offices in San Francisco, Sweden and Korea.

We guess BlackBerry see the team at TAT helping them take a fast-track to a better User Interface experience for both smartphone and PlayBook users.

David Yach, Chief Technology Officer at RIM wrote that "TAT focuses on delivering great user experiences, from a design, technology, and usability perspective. Their design technology is used today in a variety of industries including the consumer electronics and automotive sectors".
