Vodafone Office Mail Service for 3G

15th December , 2005

ASIA Japan : Vodafone K.K. announces today that from 18 January 2006 it will offer ‘Vodafone Office Mail’, a push email service that lets customers remotely access company email, address books and schedule details in real-time on a Vodafone K.K. 3G handset*1. The service is the first*2 of its kind in Japan to automatically ‘push’ mails directed to company PC email addresses to mobile handsets.

To enable any customer to access essential information anywhere, Vodafone Office Mail will be offered to both business customers and consumers. For increased accessibility to consumers, customers using POP3 mail servers provided by ISPs (Internet Service Providers) will also be able to view and reply to server mail on their handsets.

The main features of Vodafone Office Mail are as follows:

- Japan’s first service to push company emails to handsets in real-time so customers can reply to mails on their handsets with their company PC mail addresses

- Internal meeting request mails can be received on handsets to enable instant availability replies. Customers can confirm their latest schedules remotely as calendars on work PCs and handsets are synchronised in real-time*3

- Possible to view, edit and add to address books remotely*3

With the introduction of Vodafone Office Mail, Vodafone K.K. will offer two types of services to meet customer needs. The ‘Enterprise Server’ service is suitable for large scale usage, and is available for an initial charge of 10,000 yen (10,500 yen incl. tax) per company and a monthly charge of 500 yen (525 yen incl. tax) per line. The ‘Personal Edition’ service has no start up costs and allows for one line subscriptions or more at a monthly charge of 500 yen (525 yen incl. tax) per line.

Vodafone Office Mail uses Visto’s push mail service platforms ‘Visto MobileTM Enterprise Server’ and ‘Visto MobileTM Personal Edition’.
