So far we’ve seen a few shots that purportedly show the Sony Xperia Z3, but they’ve all been blurry spy shots typical of early phone leaks, so they’re not the best things to go by if you actually want to get a real sense of how Sony’s next flagship might look.
Thankfully a Chinese fan took it upon themselves to make some detailed renders based on the information and rumours that have been floating around so far, so while they’re not official shots they’re also not mere concepts, as they’re based on actual information.
The renders posted on Digi-Wo and show the Xperia Z3 in a range of colours which Sony isn’t likely to actually use, as the company tends to stick with white, black and sometimes purple for its flagship. But they’re pretty all the same and give you a great sense of how the phone might look if the rumours and shots we’ve seen so far turn out to be accurate.
Though, as you might have noticed, what we’re looking at isn’t a million miles from what we have already in the Xperia Z2. The position of the earpiece on the front is a little different but otherwise the design is much the same, with the same overall shape and even more or less the same positioning of ports and buttons on the side.
That lines up with what we’ve heard though, as the Xperia Z3 is starting to sound a whole lot like the Xperia Z2, both visually and internally. Hopefully Sony has some surprises up its sleeve or as nice as the phone might look it could also be a disappointment. We should know for sure in early September, as Sony is expected to announce the device at IFA 2014.
