The HTC Zara surfaces and looks a lot like the HTC One.
It seems that HTC are working on a new handset called the HTC Zara. Or at least they are if evleaks are to be believed and given their generally good track record for leaks there’s no reason not to believe them at this point.
Thankfully we have more to go on than just a name, as evleaks have also uncovered an image of the device along with some specs. The image makes it look a lot like a black HTC One, complete with Beats Audio and dual speakers on the front, presumably able to deliver the same brilliant sound quality as its sibling.
However the HTC Zara seems to be made from plastic, marking it out as a lower end handset than the aluminium HTC One or even the HTC One Mini.
The specs further confirm that this is a mid-range device, with a 4.5 inch 960 x 540 display, a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. The HTC Zara is also said to have 8GB of built in storage along with micro SD card support, a 2100 mAh battery and Android Jelly Bean 4.3 - which is the latest version of Google’s OS.
Interestingly the HTC Zara comes with an 8 megapixel camera, which presumably means that it doesn’t use the Ultrapixel technology found in the HTC One and HTC One Mini. Apparently it’s also coming with Sense 5.5, which is an update to HTC’s interface, as both the HTC One and One Mini come with Sense 5. What changes 5.5 will bring are not yet known, but presumably it will roll out to other recent HTC handsets as well.
According to evleaks the HTC Zara is due out in quarter 4, so we’ll likely see it (and perhaps an update to HTC Sense) in the next few months.
