The Apple iPhone 5S is much needed both by Apple and Apple fans. We’ve previously heard that Apple’s Tim Cook said there would no new Apple devices until late September or early October. However, in the fast moving world of smartphones anything can be brought forward.
The latest news for the Apple iPhone 5S breaks via AllThingsD's unnamed source who forecasts that the iPhone 5S will be formally announced on the 10th September. If this is correct, and we have no reason to think why not, expect to see at least the iPhone 5S being announced that day and potentially the iPhone 5C.
Looking at the new iPhone 5S first, 3G would expect this to be an upgrade from the current iPhone. This is what history has shown us when we look back at the older iPhone 4 and its development into the iPhone 4S. We foresee a much needed performance boost in terms of memory and processor, the introduction of iOS 7 and a badly needed feature to uplift the whole iPhone series – this could be the much talked about fingerprint sensor.
Looking at the other iPhone in the pipeline, we expect the iPhone 5C to be launched at the same time as the iPhone 5S – but it could come later. Latest rumours suggest that the iPhone 5C will come in a plastic case with a number of colour options. We don’t expect the iPhone 5C to be updated that much from the current iPhone in terms of performance and may be actually be reduced. It may also come with a smaller display.
Our prediction – 3G expect both the Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C to be unveiled on the 10th September but with different availability dates – with the iPhone 5S first.
