The Samsung Galaxy SIII launched running on Android Ice Cream Sandwich at a time when Jelly Bean was just hitting the deadlines. Since then Samsung Galaxy SIII owners have been waiting patiently for the new version of Google's operating system to land on their cutting-edge smartphone.
We've now heard rumours that Android Jelly Bean is in the final stages of testing on the Galaxy S3 and should be unveiled at Samsung's Unpacked Event on August 29th. The information comes thanks to an anonymous who spoke to GSMArena.
Sadly, at this time we don't know whether the update will roll out globally all at once or whether some markets will get the update first. We've got our fingers crossed that the UK is one of the first countries to get the update and that the operators pull their fingers out to make it available as soon as possible.
Interestingly, a leaked video of a Samsung Galaxy SIII running Android Jelly Bean has also been posted online.
Mexican website AndroidMX posted the video which looks genuine enough to the crew at 3G and the operating system looks to be running smoothly , which is a good sign in regards to its chances of arriving on August 29th.
We'll bring you all the latest from Samsung's Unpacked Event on August 29th and on any news related to the Android Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy SIII that surfaces before the event.
