The Samsung Galaxy S3 is already proving as much of a success as its predecessor , but it looks like that isn't enough for Samsung because they are rumoured to be launching a Mini version of their flagship smartphone.
Rumours reported by TheDroidGuy suggest that Samsung are going to launch the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini at the same time as the iPhone 5, which means an October launch.
However, the S3 Mini won't be trying to compete with the iPhone 5 but will instead be gunning for the iPhone 4S. That means that the Galaxy S3 Mini will be a more affordable smartphone which Samsung hopes can take away some of the users who are planning to buy the iPhone 4S when it's price drops.
The Galaxy S3 Mini is rumoured to have a 4 inch Super AMOLED touch-screen , be powered by a dual-core and will feature a 5 mega-pixel camera. It's price would sit somewhere around the $200 (£150), which would be a very tempting proposition to a lot of people !
In related news the same source also suggests that Samsung are also planning to launch the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus, which is an improved version of the Galaxy S2. This will be priced higher than the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, but lower than the full Galaxy S3.
The specification of the Galaxy S2 Plus is rumoured to include a 4.5 inch AMOLED touch-screen, dual-core 1.5 Ghz processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board memory and an 8 mega-pixel snapper. It'll also run on Android Jelly Bean, which is the latest version of Google's operating system.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus is also expected to launch around the time that the iPhone 5 hits the market.
Both of these devices could well be unveiled at the Samsung Unpacked event which is taking place in Berlin on August 29th. 3G will be bringing you all the news from the event so keep posted !
