Earlier today we brought you news that the Samsung Galaxy SIII would be upgraded to Android Jelly Bean at the end of the 3rd quarter or the start of the 4th quarter of 2012. Now we've got news about when two other Samsung devices will be upgraded to the latest version of Android.
According to SamMobile tests have already begun on the the Galaxy S2 and the initial results look positive. If everything goes as planned Samsung expect to make Android 4.1 available for the Galaxy SII in the 4th quarter of 2012.
However, it's still possible some problems might be found with running Android Jelly Bean on the Galaxy SII. If this does prove the case and Samsung can't find a solution they've promised a value pack will be made available , which will bring a lot of the features of the new operating system to Samsung's smartphone.
The situation is very similar with the Samsung Galaxy Note and if the tests continue to go without any major problems we can expect to see the Android Jelly Bean update landing on the Galaxy Note in the 4th quarter of 2012.
3G can't see any reason why the Galaxy SII and Galaxy Note shouldn't be able to run Android 4.1 and we'd expect the updates to land towards the end of 2012. However, as always those with operator-branded Samsung devices will have to wait for their operators to issue the update.
We'll keep you up to date on all the latest information related to Android Jelly Bean being released on Samsung devices when we get it.
