The iPhone 5 is widely expected to launch later this year in either September or October and this information has been reaffirmed by Sharp.
The Daily Mail reported that Sharp's President, Takashi Okuda stated at a press event that they'd be shipping the iPhone 5's touch-screen in August. This sits perfectly with previous rumours which suggest that the iPhone 5 would launch in September or October.
Sharp are one of three manufacturers producing displays for the iPhone 5 with the other two being LG Electronics and Japan Display. The display on the iPhone 5 is expected to come in at 4 inches, which is larger than the iPhone 4S's 3.5 inch touch-screen.
Additionally, the iPhone 5 is expected to include in-cell screen technology which combines the tough-screen layer and the display layer into one which makes the screen thinner than ever before. The smartphone is also expected to include an improved camera, a faster processor and support for NFC.
3G will keep you updated on any news related to the launch of the iPhone 5, as well as bringing you information on the iPad Mini which is rumoured to be showcased before the end of 2012.
