With IFA due to begin next week in Berlin we're expecting a whole host of new smartphones to be unveiled both before and during the event.
Acer are the first company to make their move because they unveiled two new smartphones, which are the Acer Liquid Gallant and the Liquid Gallant Duo. Both smartphones are mid-range Android smartphones with the only difference between the two being that the Liquid Gallant Duo is a dual-sim smartphone.
The Liquid Gallant and the Liquid Gallant Duo are both powered by a single core 1 GHz processor and have 1GB of RAM, which is pretty standard for mid-range smartphones. They both also have 4.3 inch touch-screen displays which run at a resolution of 960*540 pixels (qHD) and run on Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
Other features of the smartphones includes a 5 mega-pixel camera with LED Flash, 4GB of on-board memory and support for microSD cards. Supported connectivity includes 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.
Both the Acer Liquid Gallant and the Liquid Gallant Duo will be showcased at IFA 2012, which takes place in Berlin at the end of August. They'll then be available to buy from stores early in September and will come in a choice of either Black or White.
As soon as 3G gets news on which operators will carry the Liquid Gallant smartphones or details about the prices of the mobile we'll let you know.
