The Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray was announced earlier this year and since then we've been eagerly awaiting its release.

The launch was originally expected to be in August, but since then we heard a September launch is the most likely. Vodafone have now added the Xperia Ray to its "Coming Soon" page, which backs up the September launch.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray is a stylish smartphone that runs on the Android platform and is just 9.4mm thick. It has a 3.3 inch touch-screen with Mobile Bravia technology.

The Ray is powered by a 1 GHz processor, comes with a 4GB microSD card and has an 8.1 mega-pixel camera For video-calling it also has a front-facing camera for video calling . Android 2.3 is featured on the Xperia Ray and it will be available on Vodafone in Gold.

Neither the price or release date is currently available on the Vodafone site, but we expect it to launch in the next couple of weeks. Once we hear anymore about the Xperia Ray you'll be the first to know.
