Samsung unveiled the Samsung Galaxy W earlier today and Three have already announced that they will be stocking the new device.

Samsung have announced a new hierarchy of smartphones which reflect the price and features of their mobiles. The top of the range is the S, followed closely by the R and then the W. So it's safe to assume that the Samsung Galaxy W will be priced lower than both the Galaxy S2 and the Galaxy R.

However, that doesn't mean its specification is average by any means. The Galaxy W will have a 3.7 inch Super LCD touch-screen, 1.4 GHz processor, 5 mega-pixel camera and will be powered by Android 2.3.

Three stated that the release date and price would be revealed shortly and once we hear anymore we'll let you know.

More affordable smartphones are a real trend right now with Apple looking to capitalize of the success of the iPhone with the more affordable iPhone 4S (or Nano). Samsung have had huge success with the Galaxy S2 and are keen to expand the range to expand their success.
