Nokia and Polar Mobile has agreed that Polar will produce 300 media apps for Nokia's Symbian smartphones and future Windows Phone smartphones. This includes the Nokia N9 ( Symbian ) of course.
The apps will be released over the next 12 months and include media brands such as Wired UK, Kompas, Advertising Age and 7DAYS. The apps included are likely to be of more interest to business people as they generally address technology and world news, sales and marketing, and advertising and market intelligence apps . However, they have one thing in common they are market leaders in their field.
The first 50 apps will be available for the Nokia N9 and Symbian smartphones by next month via Nokia's Ovi Store.
"Nokia is excited about the opportunity to team up with Polar Mobile to bring hundreds of quality apps to consumers around the world. Polar Mobile's ability to scale and attract a global set of brands is strategic in supporting Nokia's efforts in offering compelling apps and experiences for our users," said Richard White, General Manager, Nokia Canada.
