We're all waiting with huge excitement for the announcement of the iPhone 5 and we've now got another hint that it could be coming soon.

For the first time O2 have started offering commission to affiliates selling the iPhone 4 (pictured above). Previously, O2 didn't allow them to promote and take commission on any iPhone's sold, but now they do.

You might be asking how this is relevant to the launch of the iPhone 5. Well O2's action could be interrupted as trying to drive iPhone 4 demand in order to clear stock for the iPhone 5.  Interestingly , O2 will only be paying commission until the end of August so could that be when the iPhone 5 is announced?

This date also coincides with the September launch that the Guardian predicted earlier this month. The only other reason for O2's decision is that iPhone 4 sales may have dropped or they have lost market share to other networks but the evidence is stacking up for a September iPhone 5 launch.
