Huawei have been making smartphones for a while having produced a number of operator branded handsets such as the Vodafone Smart and Orange Barcelona. However, they also produce their own smartphones and launched the Huawei Ideos at the beginning of this year.

Now the company has announced the Huawei Vision which is an Android-powered smartphone.  The vision runs on Android 2.3 and features a 3D user-interface and a unique 3D carousel feature for homepage navigation. We're a little confused about it having a 3D interface without a 3D display, but we'll have to take Huawei's word for it until we see it.

A 3.7 inch touch-screen is present on the Vision, while it also has a 5 mega-pixel camera capable of recording 720p HD video. The smartphone is powered by a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor and has 512MB of RAM.

Other features  present include microSD support, an FM radio, built-in GPS and a microUSB port. The Huawei Vision will also support coloured backs with silver, gold and charcoal all available.

No price was unveiled but we'd expect a lower-price point than a lot of smartphones. The HTC Vision will launch in September, which isn't all that far away but we don't know whether it will be operator-branded.
