Is a cheaper version of the iPhone 4 coming or not. 3G are not sure but this week's news suggest that there is. The latest news snippet comes from Reuters who report via their sources that a cheaper iPhone 4 with a 8GB flash drive on-board is imminent.

The Apple iPhone 4 is currently available in a 16GB version and a 32GB version. They can be bought in black or white.

3G feel that to make the iPhone 4 come in at a representative price reduction there must be other changes too. A  change from a 16GB flash drive down to 8GB can surely only make a minor dent on pricing, maybe less than 10 dollars.

Analysts from Bernstein Research recently forecast that if or when Apple released  a cheaper iPhone 4 they could expect a considerable increase in interest levels by as much as 600%. The analyst Toni Sacconaghi also stated he expected Apple to release a"nano" version of the iPhone 4.
