The Blackberry Torch 9860 is now available to buy from the Vodafone store.

The new Blackberry OS 7 smartphone is available free on contracts starting at £36 a month which gets you 1,000 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of mobile data.

The Torch 9860 carries on Blackberry's recent aim to appeal more to conventional phone users rather than business users. Infact, it's the first full touch mobile Blackberry have launched in a long time and lacks the classic Blackberry QWERTY keyboard.

A huge 3.7 inch touch-screen more than makes up for the omission of the QWERTY keyboard and will be perfect for social networking and multi-media playback. Infact, the screen is the largest ever on a Blackberry smartphone.

The rest of the specification is pretty high-end for a Blackberry smartphone and includes a 1.2 GHz processor, 768MB of RAM and a 5 mega-pixel camera. Onboard memory comes in at a more than respectable 8GB, while it also benefits from all the improvements brought by Blackberry OS 7 including improved web-browsing and Blackberry Messenger.
