No Android 2.1 For Motorola Droid
Google Android, Motorola Droid

We did cover this story briefly when we brought you news of the Motorola Milestone 2.2 update , but we thought that for the sake of the Droid owners we better report it separately.
Motorola has announced that it will not be updating the Motorla DEXT mobile to Android 2.1, which is something that has annoyed owners greatly.
The DEXT currently runs on Android 1.5, so its quite understandable why they would be annoyed. What makes the situation even worse is that users of the Cliq , which is the US version of the mobile , will be getting an update to Android 2.1.
We assume the reason is that the DEXT hasn't sold very well in the UK and Motorola doesn't think it worthwhile to dedicate time and resources to such a small number of people.
Users have been protesting on the Motorola UK forums, so if your an angry owner go and have your say as you never know it might end with an Android 2.1 update after all.
