Android Users Get Voice Actions
Voice Actions for Android is for Android 2.2 users only but it's a very useful feature. It lets you set up a number of spoken commands that then permits you to control your smartphone via the spoken commands.
As long as you have a smartphone with Android 2.2 you can open the "Speak Now" screen by simply tapping the onscreen microphone icon in the Google search box or by pushing the search button for 3 seconds.
Here is the basic list of voice commands that can be utilised :
send text to [contact] [message]
listen to [artist/song/album]
call [business]
call [contact]
send email to [contact] [message]
go to [website]
note to self [note]
navigate to [location/business name]
directions to [location/business name]
map of [location]
In addition to Voice Actions for Android you will also be prompted to get some additional Apps before starting with your voice commands. Voice Actions for Android is configured for US dialect at the moment but we hope to see a UK version soon.
