ZTE Conducts 3GPP Inter Operability Tests
11th August, 2009
China : ZTE along with leading chip companies ( terminal platform makers ) have conducted 3GPP Inter Operability Tests based on R7 HSPA and (Multiple Input Multiple Output ( MIMO ) solutions.
MIMO technology is an advantage for operators because it offers system capacity and spectrum utilization without the need for additional bandwidth.
The ZTE setup included a ZTE SDR 3G LTE base station coupled with the MIMO technology achieved a speed of 28.8 megabytes per second in wireless tests. This included :
-User Datagram Protocol download ( data download )
- File Transfer Protocol ( data download )
- IOT tests
All tests conducted demonstrated efficient and speedy downloads as expected and the conclusion of the IOT tests is that the ZTE MIMO solution is fully proven to go ahead with global launch.
Zhang Jianguo of ZTE 3G LTE product group said “The HSPA / MIMO technology from ZTE demonstrates our leading edge advantage in this field and we anticipate working with many of the world’s leading 3G wireless operators in this arena”.
Note: MIMO technology can improve communication system capacity and spectrum utilization without increasing bandwidth, making it a key technology for next-generation mobile communication systems.
