Europe : Nokia have announced they are entering the PC space with the Nokia Booklet 3G. The Nokia Booklet 3G is a Windows based mini-laptop which is driven by an Intel Atom processor.
The main aspect of all mini-laptops and net-books is portability, so the device has a 12 hour battery life enabling you to use it all day without the need for a power outlet. The Nokia Booklet 3G weighs a meager 1.25 kg and is just 2cm thick, enabling easy carriage and storage, maybe even inside your briefcase. The screen of the mini-laptop is a 10-inch glass HD ready display, ensuring the crispest picture for desktop and multimedia use
The laptop comes with both 3G and Wi-Fi capability to ensure you never go without the internet. Additionally it has a HDMI port for High definition video output, a camera for video calling, Bluetooth and a micro-SD card reader. The Nokia Booklet 3G also comes with built in GPS, which in collaboration with Ovi Maps, provides all your navigational needs. The device can also be used with all other Ovi suite applications, such as Ovi Music and the Cloud software.
"A growing number of people want the computing power of a PC with the full benefits of mobility," said Kai Oistamo, Nokia's Executive Vice President for Devices. "We are in the business of connecting people and the Nokia Booklet 3G is a natural evolution for us. Nokia has a long and rich heritage in mobility and with the outstanding battery life, premium design and all day, always on connectivity, we will create something quite compelling. In doing so we will make the personal computer more social, more helpful and more personal."
