3G Mobile Broadband Upgrade for Hutchison 3G
21st August, 2009
Austria : The demand for 3G Mobile Broadband continues to grow as 3G mobile users of Hutchison 3G Austria are getting more interested in 3G video on demand.
Left shows how 3G LTE will emcompass the "internet of things" as opposed to soley people-to-people.
To make sure the network can cope with the increased 3G bandwith requirements, Nokia Siemens Networks ( NSN ) has been tasked with increasing the network bandwith via microwave technology.
The new network upgrade will use a line of sight radio link with the Microwave backhaul offering a link from 3G mobile basestations and the Hutchison 3G Austria network. The NSN Microwave backhaul will be integrated with the NS NetAct system to ensure Hutchison 3G Austria are provided with the best possible network management system.
The upgrade is also future-proof ready for 3G LTE demands once rolled out. The upgrade offers high download speeds to 3G mobile phone subscribers currently and will offer speeds of over one hundred and fifty megabytes per second once 3G LTE is implemented.
“Having long standing business relationship with H3G Austria we know the architecture of their network by heart. Therefore we have the experience and established processes to smoothly handle their transition to future technologies,” said Dietmar Appeltauer, Head of Central East Europe at Nokia Siemens Networks. “What’s more, given the easy integration with existing elements of the network we can keep new expansions simple and cost efficient.”
