Europe : 3, the UK’s first video mobile network, today announces the signing of a major sports sponsorship deal. From the start of the season, 3 will be the principal sponsor of Red Park City, one of the UK’s most successful football teams.

Managed by Terry Venables, Red Park City can be seen daily in ‘The Premier ‘– Britain’s number one soccer strip, which is exclusive to The Sun. The Sun has a readership of 10 million, of which 2.5m read the comic strip regularly.

Red Park is the home to soccer legends Joe Rock (No 6) and Kurt Geigerhorst (No 17). As new team sponsor for the ’04 - ’05 season, Red Park’s ground will be renamed the 3 Stadium, the 3 logo will appear on the front of the players’ shirts and on advertising hoardings at the ground.

With the start of the new season, football fans, as well as being able to follow all the action with Red Park City in The Sun, will be able to watch video highlights of the action from every Barclays Premiership match on their 3 video mobile.

Match highlights for Saturday games in the Barclays Premiership will be available to download from 5;15pm and just five minutes after the final whistle on all other match days. This means 3 customers will be able to watch all the highlights of the goals in Barclays Premiership matches before they are shown on Match of the Day.

Terry Venables, Red Park City’s Manager said: “It’s great news. 3 are just the sort of forward-looking company we should be teaming up with. They are at the cutting-edge – like me. I see this deal as a ringing endorsement of the exciting brand of football we’re playing at Red Park. You might say I’ll be ringing the changes.”

Gareth Jones, Chief Operating Officer at 3 said: “It’s a back of the net deal for us. We thought about Chelsea, even Manchester United, but Red Park’s squad have got the talent that’s going to get them the cup. Sponsoring Red Park City reinforces 3’s position as the home of mobile football. With a fan base of millions, Red Park City is the perfect fit for 3.”

Red Park City’s first game of the season is against Birmingham this Saturday.
