| 3G CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Network For KTF |

Inset is the flagship Lucent CDMA2000 base station, the Flexent (r) Modular Cell 4.0 Under the $80 million contract, Lucent will provide a 1xEV-DO network that will cover Korea's second largest metropolitan area, Busan, and most of Kyungnam province including Ulsan city. This network will enable KTF to offer enhanced voice services and super-fast data services to businesses and consumers at speeds of up to 2.4 Megabits per second. Lucent will provide Flexent® Modular Cell 4.0 base stations, mobile switching centers and related software. Additionally, Lucent Worldwide Services will provide a variety of professional services such as installation, integration and system quality assurance to KTF. "Lucent is a great partner and we look forward to continuing our special relationship with them, " said Keun-Tae Lee, Vice President of Network R&D Group, KTF. "Lucent has the forward-looking mobile solutions that will enable KTF to migrate cost-effectively to offer additional advanced services in the future, protecting our investment." CDMA2000 is an advanced and efficient wireless technology being introduced worldwide and an international 3G standard established by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU). CDMA2000 cost-effectively evolves a multitude of network technologies to support 3G services. |
