Million US Dollar CDMA Wireless Telematics Deal

Picture shows the The Chapman Vehicle LocatorTM (CVL ). The platform will be marketed based on Sony Ericsson's CDMA 1X RTT module and Chapman's Safeguard Security Systems digital application under the brand name Chapman Vehicle Locator(TM)(CVL-D). The platform will include CDMA communication, GPS positioning functionality and an automotive factory security interface linked to the vehicle's control systems. First shipments are scheduled for end of 2002. Chapman's anticipated revenues for this product should exceed $360 million. The platform will be commercially available for OEM and aftermarket automotive and fleet applications by late fourth quarter 2002 and marketed through Chapman's direct sales channels. Sony Ericsson brings its expertise in integration of the CDMA communications solution and Chapman will provide the GPS, telematics and interface protocols including vehicle, tracking and theft-recovery component applications. Chapman Command Center (C3) will provide all Safeguard Security System subscribers with 911-trained emergency response personnel, monitoring (24x365), roadside assistance and location-based concierge services.
