Facebook have revealed that they are now seeing a staggering 1 billion users logging on to their social network on mobile phone or tablet every month. Even more impressively over 600 million of those mobile visitors visit Facebook everyday.
Daily mobile users have grown 43% based on the same time last year and advertising revenue from mobile devices now accounts for 59% of all advertising revenue, which totalled $2.27 billion in the 1st quarter of 2014.
The growth of mobile and the continued evolution of the Facebook mobile apps has resulted in more and more people visiting Facebook everyday. Of Facebook's total 1.28 billion users 802 million now visit everyday, which is up 21% compared to last year.
Facebook Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said “Facebook’s business is strong and growing, and this quarter was a great start to 2014.”
Huge changes are expected to be made to the social network in the next couple of months, especially to the mobile apps. One step that's already taken place is moving mobile chat exclusively to the Facebook Messenger app.
Facebook recently acquired WhatsApp for a staggering $21 billion and features from the Skype-rival will be integrated into Facebook shortly. It's an exciting time for Facebook, and when it comes to social networks mobile is already the dominant force, and it's power will only continue to grow.
