More images of the Nokia Catwalk have appeared on-line prior to a reported launch date of the 15th May. The Catwalk is reported to be the successor to Nokia's flagship Nokia Lumia 920. An earlier leak suggested the Nokia Catwalk would be over 50 Grams lighter.
The main physical difference between the Lumia 920 and the “Catwalk” is that the successor will come with an aluminium casing which can be seen for the first time in the photos above and below.
The images were found on Chinese website Sina Weibo which we have never heard of before but the photos certainly seem realistic to us. The photos show a device which looks similar to the Nokia Lumia 920 but is lacking the polycarbonate casing. It is not clear from the photos whether they show a design mock-up or a pre-production build version.
Last week, 3G covered an article via a source called Flavio on Twitter who claimed the specification for the “Nokia Catwalk included : a dual core S4 1.5GHz processor, 8.7Mpx f2.0 OIS main camera, 4.5" OCTA OLED 1280x768 touch screen display, 1GB RAM, 16GB ROM, 2000mAh fixed BATTERY, 129mm length x71mm width x8.4mm and weight 132g”. Flavio is a reliable source as we have heard from him before.
Last week the FT reported that Nokia were working on an aluminium encased successor to the Nokia Lumia 920 and that it would arrive sometime in Q3 this year. The only additional information which can be gleaned from the photos is that they appear to feature a PureView camera and show the 3 wireless charging nodes and a repositioned microUSB slot (or HDMI port).
3G will continue to look out for articles for the Nokia Catwalk as any successor to the Lumia 920 will be of great interest.
