The LG Optimus G2 will land in the UK in the 3rd quarter of 2013. What else do we know about the Android smartphone ?
LG look set to launch the LG Optimus G2 in the 3rd quarter of 2013 with the smartphone set to take on Samsung's Galaxy S4 and Apple's iPhone 5. Previously, we reported that the successor to the Optimus G (pictured above) would launch in the first half of the year, but it looks like it's been delayed slightly.
In an interview with TrustedReviews LG's Head of Mobile Communication confirmed that the Optimus G2 would launch in the third quarter of 2013. Unfortunately, he didn't give anymore details about the smartphone , but did promise it'll be "something different and something unique".
Our sources previously told us that LG's Optimus G2 will land with a 5 inch touch-screen running at a full HD resolution (1920*1080 pixels). That'll give it a PPI of 440 and make it 1.5 times clearer than the Retina display present on the iPhone 5.
We were also informed that the smartphone will come pre-loaded with Android Jelly Bean and will set have a 2 GHz quad-core processor. We also expect it come with at least a 12 mega-pixel camera, while it's sure to support 4G !
LG have already released the Optimus G Pro which aims to take on the Galaxy Note 2 , but can they possibly challenge Samsung's Galaxy S4 with the Optimus G2 ?
