iPhone 5S Getting Beefed Up Camera

By Kevin Thomas on 16th April 2013

Will the Apple iPhone 5S get a camera upgrade just like the iPhone 4S did.

The latest rumour coming from Vietnam is that the iPhone 5S will sport a beefed up camera upgrade including a 12 megapixel camera, an improved night photography mode and HDR. This would bring significant improvements over the current iPhone 5’s 8 megapixel camera.

The news broke via which we have heard of many times before over the years and we would say they are a reliable source. The actual source is rumoured to be the Saigon Electrics Company which manufactures iPhone5 camera packs for Apple.

Apple did the same in the upgrade from the Apple iPhone 4 to the iPhone 4s when the 4’s camera was updated from 5 megapixels to 8 in the upgraded iPhone 4S.

Earlier this week we covered another bit of news concerning the iPhone 5S and that was that the iPhone 5S was likely to launch in two different screen sizes and a number of bright colours. More here.

The iPhone 5S having been tipped by Analysts to launch in June or July this year could well be unofficially launched at Apple’s WWDC event in June, and don’t be too surprised if iOS 7 breaks cover too.
