The wearable computing revolution has officially begun with Google currently testing Google Glass in the US. We've now got fresh reports that both the Apple iWatch and Microsoft Smartwatch will launch within the next year.
Smartwatches arn't exactly new with the Sony Smartwatch and Motorola MOTOACTV already available to buy. However, this new breed of smartwatches will offer functionality far beyond anything currently available.

Apple Board Member Bill Campbell praised wearable computing technology in a recent interview. In particular he praised Google's Glass project describing it as a phenomenal breakthrough. We think this signals Apple's intention to big-up wearable technology ahead of the unveiling of the iWatch.
Apple are yet to officially confirm the existence of the iWatch , but the accessory is expected to have a curved glass display. As soon as we hear more about the Apple's smartwatch we'll let you know.
Details about a Microsoft Smartwatch have also appeared for the first time. Information reported by executives inside Microsoft's supply-chain claim that Microsoft's R&D team are already working on a Microsoft Smartwatch.
Sadly, no further details were given , but 3G expects it to include more business features than Apple's iWatch and other smartwatches such as Samsung's Galaxy SmartWatch and Google's Android Smartwatch. We expect the Microsoft Smartwatch to come with Office features and Exchange email support.
As soon as fresh news breaks about Microsoft's smartwatch we'll let you know.
Google Glass is at the cutting-edge of wearable computing technology with the wearable glasses enabling you to record video and take photos using voice-control.
