The Apple iPad 5 will be thinner and more compact than its predecessor.
The Apple iPad 5 will launch later this year and a leaked image of Apple's tablet has surfaced. The new image, posted above, was leaked to a French website by a Chinese source inside Apple's supply chain.
Previously, we reported that the iPad 5 would incorporate a design more akin to the iPad Mini and this new image suggests we may well have been right. The image highlights the smaller side-bezels surrouding the iPad 5's display which will make the device more compact.
Furthermore, we've been led to believe that Apple's tablet will introduce new LED display technology. The new display technology will feature new LED technology making it significantly thinner than the previous model.
Sadly, no details on the actual thickness of the iPad 5 were reported. However, we don't see any reason why it couldn't be as thin as the iPad Mini (7.2mm). That would be a reduction of over 2mm compared to the iPad 4 (9.6 mm).
We've previously brought you a leaked image of the back of the iPad 5 (posted below). The image also highlights Apple's decision to adopt the iPad Mini design on the next iPad. While, we've also heard that the tablet will include a new improved A6X processor and will be available with 128GB of memory.
Currently, that's all the information we have about the iPad 5. As soon as 3G hear anymore information Apple's tablet we'll let you know !
