Samsung Galaxy S Getting Android 2.3 Soon
![]() |
The Samsung Galaxy S will be upgraded to Android 2.3 in the next couple of weeks. At least that what Three has suggested on their Twitter page.
The update was expected to launch last month, but that date has been and gone but now we have more reliable information that it will launch soon.
The Samsung Galaxy S is quite an old mobile, although it is one of the most successful smartphones apart from the iPhone. It's good to see Samsung continuing to support older devices especially when you consider the imminent launch of the Samsung Galaxy S2.
The update to Android Gingerbread (2.3) will improved the user-interface, download manager and text input. The Samsung Galaxy S doesn't have the technology to support NFC unfortunately.
