Android 2.3, Gingerbread, Samsung Galaxy S

A quick article to say that we spotted on Three's Twitter page that the Samsung Galaxy S is to have its software updated.
In response to a tweet from Relentl3ss ( see above ) Three has confirmed its customers will receive the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update in the next couple of weeks.
The Samsung Galaxy S is quite an old mobile, although it is one of the most successful smartphones apart from the iPhone. It's good to see Samsung continuing to support older devices especially when you consider the imminent launch of the Samsung Galaxy S2.
The update to Android Gingerbread (2.3) will improve the user-interface, download manager and text input. The Samsung Galaxy S doesn't have the technology to support NFC unfortunately.
