Vodafone Open The 360 Shop To Premium Applications
![]() |
Vodafone has announced that they have opened up its application store to paid applications. Previously only free applications were supported but this new development opens up the door for a new breed of high-quality applications.
In order to manage the process Vodafone have partnered with the Joint Innovation Lab which enables developers to use web technologies to create, monetize and distribute applications.
Developers can choose from 20 price points which range from 49p all the way up to £9.99. Vodafone use the standard 70/30 revenue distribution with developers being paid monthly.
The Vodafone 360 shop is currently supported by over 50 handsets which give developers a large installed user base to aim for.
Developers can learn more and submit applications for approval at JIL.org
Consumers should be seeing a new breed of premium applications hitting the 360 store in the near future.
