Vodafone Announce 8 New Branded Mobiles
![]() |
Vodafone have announced 7 new mobiles in addition to the Vodafone 845, which we brought you news of earlier. (Here)
The new mobiles are aimed at the “value” end of the market, so they won’t be competing with your iPhone customers. However, they will offer good mobiles to customers at great prices.
The Vodafone 543 and Vodafone 547 aim to bring touch-screen mobiles to a lower price-point.
The Vodafone 543 has a 2.4 inch touch-screen and has the Opera Mini browser pre-loaded for great internet browsing. It also comes with a number of exchangeable covers, so you can change the colour and finish of your mobile to suit your mood or preference. It also comes with a “pre-pay balance indicator”, which always shows the amount of credit you’ve got left on your mobile.
The Vodafone 547 has a large 2.8 inch touch-screen and also comes with Opera Mini. It will be available in a choice of red, black or white.
The other four mobiles announced are ultra low cost handsets (ULCD) which aim to bring mobiles to “developing markets”. However, these mobiles often serve a purpose as “party mobiles” or as backup when you lose your main phone.
The Vodafone 246 has “standard” texts and voice features, an FM radio, vibration alert and a built-in torch. It also comes with the Vodafone pre-pay indicator. The Vodafone 247 is a similar mobile that also has solar panels for charging your mobile on the go.
The Vodafone 248 is a slider phone with a colour display and an FM radio.
The last 2 mobiles are the Vodafone 350 and the Vodafone 345, which feature full QWERTY keyboards. The Vodafone 350 is slightly higher spec and offers easy WAP access to MMS and Email. Both mobiles have an FM radio, calculator, and currency converter. It will be available in a choice of black, white or pink.
No exact release dates or price are available yet but we think the mobiles are due to launch in May.
