Back in February this year, 3G.co.uk covered the announcement that Nokia and Intel would combine their Moblin and Maemo platforms to become MeeGo. You can read all about how MeeGo was formulated here Nokia And Intel Combine To Produce MeeGo.
Things move quickly in the 3G mobile phone world and developers around the world are already working on the development of Apps and stuff for the new Nokia MeeGo platform.
The only device currently allocated to the MeeGo platform ( via update as it’s a Maemo device ) is the Nokia N900 and we have all seen the wide scope and array of applications for this. With MeeGo, Nokia anticipates that the open sourced OS will be used on mobile phones, notebooks, in-vehicle communication and home TV.
We have heard of few MeeGo devices in the pipeline but know that Nokia and Orange have agreed to launch MeeGo devices before the end of 2010. You can read all about this here - Orange to Launch Nokia MeeGo Smartphones. Developers can head on over to MeeGo.com.
