Nokia N8 Symbian^3 SmartPhone Announced

Nokia have announced the Nokia N8, which is a smart-phone running Symbian^3, the latest version of the worlds most popular mobile operating system.

The Nokia N8 comes with an amazing 12 mega-pixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, Xenon Flash and large sensor similar to top-end digital cameras. The same camera offers the ability to record HD (high-definition) videos, which can then be edited with the built-in editing software.

Multimedia playback is a top priority with the N8 and it has Dolby Digital Plus surround sound support so you can connect it to your home-theatre system. You can then stream your HD-Quality video to your TV and listen to surround sound through your speakers. It also supports web TV service so you can watch your favourite TV content on your mobile wherever you are!

Social networking is another area that the Nokia N8 excels because it has an application where you can view, edit and share your latest news on multiple social networks.

It also comes pre-loaded with the latest version of Nokia Ovi Maps which support both walk and drive navigation.

Symbian^3, which powers the Nokia N8, support multi-touch, flick scrolling and pinch-zoom which were unsupported on previous Symbian versions. Multiple home-screens are also supported so you can have one for each “area” of your life. It also improves the multi-tasking experience through better memory management and improves both 2D and 3G graphics performance.

The Nokia N8 will launch in the third quarter of 2010 and will cost around £350.
