GPRS Wireless Supports Russia's Evolution

Europe : Tektronix announced that Mobile TeleSystems (MTS), the leading mobile operator in Russia, has decided to extend its Tektronix network monitoring system to maximise profits from its existing GSM network and enable its General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) deployment.

In order to retain subscribers and maximise profits, network operators must be able to provide a seamless, wireless experience with Quality of Service (QoS) while increasing traffic to their network. Tektronix' NET-7/NET-GPRS network monitoring system and its new Roaming Analysis Application helps MTS satisfy their customers' needs in both the home network and roaming.

To successfully optimise and master the evolution from legacy Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) to GPRS and 3G networks, mobile operators must have access to specific analysis of interconnection traffic and effective troubleshooting. This enables operators to increase revenue derived from next-generation (2.5G and 3G) services. MTS has chosen the Tektronix NET-7/NET-GPRS monitoring system to provide the necessary tools and best network QoS, in order to ensure Russia's successful GPRS deployment.
