Mobile Gateway Partnership

US : Starent Networks announced an agreement with ITOCHU TECHNO SCIENCE Corporation (CTC), a leading Japanese systems integrator, to sell and integrate its ST16 Intelligent Mobile Gateway in Japan.

The Japanese mobile market is one of the world's largest with almost 80 million subscribers and of those, approximately 70 million have data connections (source Ovum). Many unique and innovative services are available in the market including movie and TV programming, the ability to send short movie clips in a mail format and others.

The agreement calls for the two companies to execute existing customer agreements and pursue new business opportunities in the Japanese market. Starent Networks will provide its market leading ST16 Intelligent Mobile Gateway along with product sales and support resources. CTC will provide sales support, network integration, installation and system technical support.

CTC is one of Japan's largest systems integrators. It is the leading representative of many major technology brands including Sun Microsystems, Cisco Systems, Oracle, Network Appliance, Avaya, Siebel Systems and many others. Additionally, its customer roster includes major Japanese mobile wireless carriers.
