Since its alliance with Microsoft on Windows Phone in 2010, there have been more than a few news pieces about Nokia launching Windows-powered 3G tablets. Given its announcement that it would exclusively release 3G smartphones on Windows Phone, it’s unlikely that first Nokia tablet would run on Android.
The Finnish manufacturer recently confirmed that it would indeed be launching tablets – but only hinted that it would be using the tablet-optimised Windows 8. Though its Lumia range of 3G smartphones has been praised in mobile reviews, the Lumia 800 hasn’t sold well in the UK yet and Nokia has recognised that releasing a tablet is vital.
