Wireless Entertainment Services Finland Ltd. (WES), a leader in the mobile value added services market, and Playboy.com, Inc., the leading men's lifestyle and entertainment destination online, have entered into a licensing agreement. Under terms of the agreement, WES will create Playboy-branded content for current wireless devices as well as for the soon to be launched mobile handsets. The deal marks Playboy's entry into the wireless market.

United States Cellular Corporation announced its intention to deploy CDMA 1XRTT(Code Division Multiple Access) technology in all of its markets.
