If your phone has old software you are missing the latest improvements to your e1000
You can see what version of firmware you are running by checking 'phone status' 'other info' 's/w version'
If it starts with E1000 then it is old inferior firmware
This is the latest UnBranded firmware prefix 'r26' and has the best performance
with improved Browser gprs speed / java / gps / camera / mp3 compatibility
if you wish to keep your web settings copy your websession file from a: on your phone and copy back after flashing

This is how you can update.....
I have made this R26LD_U_83.39.27I Monsterpack for you - this is the newest firmare and flex

This is what you need to update your firmware to the latest version in one 5 minute step !

You need to google to find and install " rsdlite " 1.7 or above to flash. (dont ask for rsdlite here it is warez)

*You will Lose all data on your phone so copy all files/numbers to the card or PC
*this will void your warranty and you cannot return to the inferior e1000 prefix firmware after*
*this process wipes your phone completely then writes the latest firmware -and is done at your own risk
*this will NOT UNLOCK/LOCK your phone -phone must be unlocked with smartclip or with subsidy code

I have included my Perfect Flex in the Firmware ;
This is how the phone SHOULD have come from the factory
including all the important steps in my old guide, Flashed firmware and flex
Plus all the tricks I have learnt.
I have also added a black skin named xdesignblack which I have modified.
I have performed extra tweaks to make it as unbranded/generic as possible
And corrected all the stupid Motorola initial settings so it is just good to go !
I have kept it as basic as possible so You can just add whatever You need to the phone afterwards and personalise it the way You want
Just flash and use, no tweaking necessary !
I have unhidden all the important settings;

5 seconds backlight minimum
Lock to 2g setting available (900/1800 band)
Agps set to off at start
Calendar alarms set to on when power off
Calendar week view enabled (and view bug corrected)
All settings changed for best battery performance
No useless pictures
No operator text/useless icons on home screen with new skin
No startup/end sound or animation
XDesignblackv3 skin modified by me and original moto skin
Video capture lengh extended to maximum (11minutes is the max, longer does not work)
Flex edited to enable all agps functions and java loader etc
Ability to copy files between card and phone added
Volume up/down and low battery tones reduced to a low volume
Motorola Digital audio player and standard games included
Gprs icon hidden until active
Voda and h3g java certs added
no locked shortcuts.... etc etc

How to Flash firmware : This only takes 5 minutes ! - It does not matter if you have your sim or mem card in or out -

open rsdlite
connect phone to pc with power off
power up phone while holding * & # buttons for bootloader flash mode
*do not disturb the cable or phone during the whole process*
rsdlite will detect your phone and it will appear on the list as " S Flash Rainbow POG " (flash mode)

hello

i thought that before we change the software on a fone we should do a backup of the fone's firmware so if something goes rong that is the only way to put it back working but you say that after flashing we cannot go back to previus firmware so that means that we cannot restore the backup if we do one?

But if something goes wrong you can just reflash it.(unless you do something bizarrely wrong)
I have flashed my e1000 about 40 times, but there is always a small risk.

Java in E1000_ F/w has some bugs, bugs that preventing
some methods like loading big images to memory....
only with R26 you can load big images in java apps...
(as far as i checked...)

i need to upgrade my f/w to R26 too... :\

I upgrade my firmware with R26 and flex UCE1000EMEAR2602C i apply all settings of leadergl but my cell is not showing 2G it is working on 2.5G it showed 2G with my old firmeware of E1000_U_80 with flex SE6068AXXW6007 why it is not working in 2G now

Disable GPRS Auto-Attach on start - this will make the phone connect in 2g rather than 2.5g (with band 900/1800)

masterclear/reset are in your PHONE menu, in ' initial setup ' settings

initial settings/master clear (code=000000)
-then master reset (code=000000)
