T-Mobile Internet or GPRS

I have the web n walk plan with T-Mobile currently.

On my N93, when connecting to the internet, do i connect as T-Mobile Internet or T-Mobile GPRS? What is the difference?

Thanks

Not quite, the phone will make a connection to whatever is available with either access point, you can't choose between GPRS and 3G as a data bearer on an N93 (or perhaps any other 3G phone (certainly not Nokias), you can only choose 'Packet data').

The connection name 'T-Mobile GPRS' may be a throwback from the days of choosing between GPRS or CSD connections.

On my 6680, I have 'T-Mo WEB' and 't-zones' as access points, the only difference between them is there's no username on the 'T-Mo WEB' connection, but they both work.

Re: T-Mobile Internet or GPRS

there is no difference, they are only connection profiles

there is only 1 access point you can connect to(general.t-mobile.uk) this is the access point for 2.5 ,3 ,3.5g and you will connect to whatever is available and if your device supports it.

Arrow Re: T-Mobile Internet or GPRS

I am also trying to connect my laptop via the Vario II on WnW Pro.

After a good deal of fiddling (eg, the USB modem APN is, out of the box, set incorrectly to "internet") and trying to find working username/password combos, I am up and running.

The remaining issue is with VPN:

I can connect using PPTP, which is fine, but not v secure. The L2TP/IPSec option does not get through at all, which suggests that certain ports are being blocked by T-Mobile, as a similar setup works with Orange (vpninternet APN).

What do I have to do to get full internet access?

How do I go about getting this enabled as I need this option to connect to my corporate server and get e-mail?

Thanks,
Tim.
